The article examines the period of graffiti emergence in Barnaul (Altai Krai) from the early 2000s to 2012 as a form of contemporary street art influencing the region's cultural and social environment. Special attention is given to the creative biographies of key pioneers of the movement — Yuri Esaulenko, Andrey Berger (Aber), and Andrey Snak (5NAK), who did not identify with hip-hop culture but viewed graffiti as a form of tree artistic self-expression. However, this culture is considered in close connection when analyzing the formation of street art. Key events are analyzed: initial actions such as "A Word on the Fence is Art Too!", "Paint Methods" festivals, the role of the local community, and trends of declining activity after 2010 followed by revival with government support.
