ON THE MIMETIC QUALITIES OF ABSTRACT ART IN SIBERIA

Abstract:
Abstract. The study is devoted to identifying mimetic qualities in the imagery of Siberian abstractionism. Three interpretations of the theory of mimesis relevant for abstract art are presented. Using the works of Siberian artists as an example, the author of the article identifies the object or phenomenon in relation to which the artist establishes a mimetic relationship of the artistic form. The article concludes by comparing the interpretations of the theory of mimesis and the manifestations of mimetic qualities of the artistic form in Siberian abstractionism.
