RENAMING THE SOCIALIST REALISM ARTISTIC STYLE IN THE VIETNAM LACQUER PAINTINGS IN THE PERIOD 1945-1975
Abstract and keywords
Abstract (English):
The article analyzes the influence of the socialist realism style on the visual elements in the art of Vietnamese lacquer painting in the period 1945-1975, with an emphasis on such aspects as composition and space, lines and color, light and form. During this period, artists used the characteristic pictorial language of socialist realism to truthfully depict images of workers fighting and building a country in the face of war and the creation of a new society. The study clarifies how the strict composition and multi-layered space were created in order to emphasize collectivism and historical dynamics. Strong and clear lines combined with a contrasting color palette, often including red, yellow and black tones, not only created a strong visual effect, but also conveyed the spirit of optimism and faith in victory. The light and form in the works are carefully organized, and the multi-layered techniques of lacquer painting were used to create depth and vivid images of the resilience and will of the central characters. The results of the study show that the style of socialist realism has helped Vietnamese artists expand their visual language, as well as enhance their ability to express content and emotions through traditional materials. The article not only helps to understand the development of lacquer painting in a specific historical period, but also confirms the role of socialist realism in shaping the aesthetics and creative techniques of artists.
