Abstract (English):
The review of the book "Monumental Mosaic of Moscow: Between Utopia and Propaganda" by the author Anna Petrova, art critic and artist, with the participation of photographer James Hill, art critic Ekaterina Ruskevich and specialist in art attribution objects Evgenia Kudelina is presented. The analysis of the book structure, the content and the main ideas carried out. Much attention paid to the place of monumental mosaics in the art history and its purpose. Of interest is a large number of illustrations and their grouping in the book by the plots themes. The book also introduces the reader to a brief description of all the subjects of the Soviet monumental mosaic and their role in public space.
